Ascendio 2012
Just before Infinitus last year, HPEF announced its eighth Harry Potter fan-created, fan-run event: Ascendio. We’re returning to Universal Orlando - but the Portofino Bay Resort this time, to celebrate fans, fandom, fan creativity and more!
Join a thousand wizards- and witches – from July 12 – 15, 2011 as we let our discussions, imaginations, friendships and insights “Take Flight” – and, of course, visit the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, debate still-unresolved questions from the books, analyze the films, analyze Pottermore and J.K. Rowling’s interviews, explore other fantasy and Young Adult novels and worlds with novelists like Lev Grossman and Aimee Carter and bloggers like Mark Oshiro of MarkReads, and more! Our programming sessions are grounded in the proposals submitted by our attendees, so please check out our Call for Papers , our Meet Up Organizational Form of Organizations, and our forthcoming Call for Crafts and Art. Later this fall, we’ll be opening auditions for performers and musicians for our theatrical review, Wand By Wand By Wizards.
Registration is open and hotel rooms at the four-diamond Portofino Bay Resort start at $210+tax per night for up to four in a room.

The team that brought you The Final Battle at Infinitus 2010 made a very special announcement today.

2nd Team StarKid Autograph Session Added
Due to popular demand a second autograph session for Team StarKid has been added for Sunday at 11 a.m.
Volunteer Center relocated on Saturday
The Volunteer Center will be relocated on Saturday to a table set up outside the Banda Sea room. A representative will be available to answer questions, sign up people for more hours, and collect volunteer hour slips.
Any volunteers who want to be entered into the C&C Dessert or AVPS prizes must have all their signed slips in by Saturday at Noon. Drop off location is outside the Banda Room. We will post the winning names in the Common Room by 2:30 p.m. Saturday and in the Volunteer Room.
Reminder: You must work at least 4 hours before noon tomorrow to be eligible to win either of those two prizes.n More prizes awarded on Sunday, during the Leaving Feast including a large gift basket and other cool HP items!
We still have openings for Aurors for our Exiled and Redeemed game that will begin shortly by the South Registration desk as well as opportunities with Common Room and Art Gallery.
